OK, I'm sure everybody knows Doctor Who is 50 this year. If you don't, you must have been living under a rock or stranded on a broken spaceship somewhere because it's everywhere! Yesterday the Daleks were announced as being a returning villain for the shows special 50th anniversary episode as well, which is falling on the 23rd of November.
To coincide with this, I'm taking a look back at the last time the Doctor celebrated in style. No, I'm not talking Dimensions In Time, I'm talking about when the show celebrated it's 25th anniversary back in 1988. Sylvester McCoy was beginning his second year in the TARDIS and Ace had recently joined in the last story as his new companion. The series opened with a bang! Daleks everywhere in the special 4-part story 'Remembrance Of The Daleks' by Ben Aaronovitch, followed by the political The 'Happiness Patrol', the 25th anniversary serial 'Silver Nemesis' and finished with the aptly named 'The Greatest Show In The Galaxy'. And it's all coming to Doctor Who A Day in the next week! Because there was a bit of a break last week, I'm bringing out two episode reviews a day to celebrate the 25th year! So get ready because tomorrow we'll begin the party with the opening two instalments of 'Remembrance Of The Daleks'!
